Hello! We are going to be at Disney World this December and I was looking at the Candlelight Processional dining package. I have 4 young children, ages 8, 6, 3, and infant. Is this something that they would enjoy, especially my 3 year old?

Hello, Kristy! Thanks for stopping by to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Candlelight Processional at Epcot is a beautiful telling of the Christmas story against the backdrop of the festive holiday ambience of World Showcase. Each night, a celebrity narrator shares Bible passages that recount the story the birth of Christ, accompanied by a full orchestra and choir performing traditional holiday favorites.

While the music and lights may grab children's attention, there are extended periods in which the audience is hushed during the narrator's performance. Plus, the show runs about 45 minutes or so, which may test the limits of a little one's patience. As the mom of a very energetic 5-year-old boy, I'll probably wait a few more years before trying to have my son experience this event. I'd compare it to a church service - while many children are quite capable of sitting quietly during the reading and enjoying the more upbeat sections, others may be a little too squirmy to get through it. Lots of Guests have posted videos of the Candlelight Processional online. Perhaps if you do a quick web search and preview the show beforehand, you can determine if you think it's right for your little ones.

I hope this helps you make your plans, Kristy. Please come visit again if you have any more questions.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
