I am going to Disney World on December 22, 2013 and departing on January 5, 2014. I am trying to work out a schedule and I need to know how often the buses run from park to park. I believe it may be every hour, but I am not sure.

    Hi Katie,

I'm happy to be able to answer your Walt Disney World planing question. The free transportation among the parks and resorts is a great amenity.

Generally, you can expect buses to arrive at the resorts and theme parks at least every 20 minutes. That can vary based on crowd level, but it's a good rule of thumb. I usually recommend that you allow an hour of travel time between your resort and a park or from park to park, just to be sure.

You mentioned getting from park to park. Here are the modes available:

From Animal Kingdom, you can take a bus to Epcot, Hollywood Studios or the Transportation and Ticket Center gateway to Magic Kingdom. From the TTC, you can get a ferryboat or monorail to the Magic Kingdom gate.

From Hollywood Studios, you can get a bus to Animal Kingdom, the TTC or the front entrance to Epcot. You can also take a water taxi to the International Gateway (the back entrance in the World Showcase) to Epcot or take about a 30-,minute walk along a path through the Epcot area resorts.

From Epcot, besides buses to the parks, you can take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center for Magic Kingdom and, of course, that boat or walk to Hollywood Studios.

From Magic Kingdom, head to the Transportation and Ticket Center to transfer to a bus or monorail for the other parks. Or you can walk to the Contemporary resort (about a 5- to 10-minute walk) to catch a bus to the other parks.

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, you can reach the parks from there by bus or, in some cases, monorail or water taxi.

I hope that helps. Please don't worry about being at a bus stop exactly on the hour. No matter what time you arrive, another bus should be along within a few minutes.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation with your family!
