Hi. We are going to Disney World in 6 days with our 2 year old and 3 year old sons. This will be their first trip. Is there any way to make this more special for them? And how should we let them know?

    Hi Howard,

In only six days your sons will be experiencing the magic of Walt Disney World Resort for the very first time!  Because your children are still quite young, I would recommend not to plan an over the top reveal.  Your boys will not really understand what it all means until they actually arrive at Walt Disney World Resort and experience the magic for themselves!  I would suggest showing them pictures of Mickey Mouse or their favourite characters, maybe even give them a stuffed animal and tell them that you are going to meet Mickey tomorrow!  Perhaps watch some Disney movies to help them become familiar with the characters they will soon be meeting.

To make your Walt Disney World Resort vacation even more special, I would recommend that you stop at guest services on your way into the Theme Park and pick up a complimentary first visit button for your sons. I would also stop by the shops on Main Street U.S.A. and let your sons pick out their very first pair of Mickey Ears, a souvenir that they will have for years to come.

To make sure your sons have the best experience, I would suggest that you take the time to really enjoy your sons as they experience the magic Disney has to offer.  Take your time walking through the Theme Parks, and let them explore.  Have them take the lead, don't rush from attraction to attraction, just slow down and enjoy the time with your family.  Moments like these are few and far between, and Disney will allow you to really enjoy your sons away from everyday life.

As far as ideas to make your vacation more special, The Walt Disney World Website offers several ideas to customize your celebration that will suit any budget.

Have a wonderful vacation Howard.  Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
