Hi going to disney world in 15 days four of us 2 adults and 2 girls age 7 and 9. flying from dublin ireland arriving at 4.30pm , what should we do the first evening and any ideas where would be the best parks to visit, First time visiting disney.Thanks.

    Hi Sharon,

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel, how exciting you're leaving so soon. I live in England so my advise to you for your first evening is to remember that although you arrive in Florida at 4.30pm to you that will be 9.30pm. My family tends to take it very easy by having a nice swim at our hotel followed by a light quick service meal. We are normally shattered and are in bed by about 8.30pm (1.30am GMT) This means we are up early the next morning raring to go so it's not all bad. If you find you're not tired then a trip to Downtown Disney is a nice way to start your holiday.

The first time I took my girls to WDW they were 7 and 9 too and they loved all the parks but their favourites were Magic Kingdom and Epcot. As you're there for 15 days that gives you lots of time to visit all the parks and decide on your favourites to revisit. Personally I avoid visiting parks that have the extra magic hours scheduled as they tend to be busier, you can see the park hours by visiting (you may get redirected to the UK site if so click the "visit US Site" link on the left at the top) then choose "Plan" and Park Hours. Also whilst you're looking on the site have a look at each parks page, this will give you details of all the attractions and you can decide what you think your children would like to see.

A few rides not to miss are Test Track and Soarin at Epcot. The mountains and Buzz at Magic Kingdom and Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios. Also have a look at our video section found HERE for hints and tips on Fast Pass etc oh and be sure to take naps the first few days to get your bodies on to Florida time!

If you have any more questions you can ask me personally via my profile page at "Meet The Moms".
