Ahoy, Valerie! Welcome back to planDisney!
I always appreciate a seasoned buccaneer who knows the importance of planning their Walt Disney World adventure. And when it comes to
The Beak & Barrel, which is probably the most popular dining reservation right now, a thought-out plan of attack will hopefully help you secure a table at this legendary pirates’ tavern.
Except for certain restaurants that are better laid out to accommodate large groups (think
Biergarten at EPCOT or
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge), securing a single reservation for 9 people may prove difficult for many Walt Disney World dining locations. You’re more likely to get a reservation with a group of 4 or 5, but I understand your concern that even if you manage to get one table, you may not get another. I’d suggest recruiting a first mate to simultaneously book your second Beak & Barrel reservation when the
60-day mark rolls around.
It’s worth noting that with the Beak and Barrel’s popularity, you may not have a choice of seating to be near the rest of your party, even if you do get two reservations for the same time. Also, don’t forget that this experience is currently limited to 45 minutes per party.
I haven’t had the opportunity to dine with Captain Merry Goldwyn or Rummy yet, but I’m looking forward to the experience on my next Walt Disney World vacation. There are so many interesting drinks and snacks on this
menu, but I’m especially excited to try the Plunderer’s Punch and Kraken’s Catch. I already have a spot on my shelf for that souvenir pirate skull mug!
Valerie, I hope this info helps you chart a course towards a wonderful vacation! Sail on back to your mateys at planDisney if you have any other queries.
Fair seas and magical travels!
Matt
