We're going to Disney World with a couple of teenagers and getting the dining plan. Since they may go off on their own for a couple of rides, can their magicbands access the dining plan credits if they are not with me? Thanks.

Hi Karen, welcome back to planDisney!

Don't you just love it when your children become old enough to go off on their own for a couple of hours?  Teenagers certainly have more energy than I do and I appreciate the break from the walking at times.  And, there are times when I'm not in the mood for Space Mountain but I will certainly enjoy the pace of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover!

I love the flexibility and convenience of the Disney Dining Plan!  You do not have to dine with your complete travel party for each meal.  Your teens can certainly go off on their own and have a meal when they are hungry.  When purchasing a meal, have them tell the cast member they are on the Disney dining plan and the meal allotments will be deducted from the pool of meals designated for your travel party.

You can easily review your remaining meals and snacks in the My Disney Experience app or on your most recent dining receipt.  Unused meals and snacks will roll over to the following day and any meals or snacks remaining at midnight on your day of checkout will expire.

    Have a magical vacation, Karen!
