Hiya, Robyn, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be more thrilled that you've stopped by with this awesome question about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit! It sounds like your family is planning an unforgettable Make-A-Wish experience at the Most Magical Place on Earth, and you must be so excited!
Robyn, it's wonderful that you're planning to visit
Magic Kingdom Park with your family on New Year's Eve! Please contact your wish organization directly for any inquiries regarding park reservations and tickets. They'll be able to let you know exactly what you need for your specific ticket type.
My little Princess got to experience
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier this year, and it was everything we'd hoped for! Even though she loves to play with makeup, I wasn't sure how she'd handle being pampered by a Fairy Godmother's Assistant. To prepare, we watched a couple of videos online that showed other families going through the makeover. This was helpful because it helped us manage our expectations regarding the check-in and selection process, the changing room, and the overall atmosphere.
I recommend eating a meal or a substantial snack before visiting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. I also suggest a well-timed restroom break beforehand. The experience takes quite a bit of time, and you won't want it to be interrupted (we learned this the hard way)! Don't worry about taking too many photos - you can set your camera down and stay in the moment since Disney PhotoPass Photographers are there to document the transformation.
If your child is set on a specific costume, you might want to source that ahead of time and bring it with you. My daughter wanted an outfit that just happened to be out of stock in her size, so we had to make a last-minute pivot, which was totally fine, but some kids might find that very disappointing. Lastly, remember to bring a change of clothes in case the costume proves to be uncomfortable throughout the evening.
Once you've finished at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, head over to Sir Mickey's for a fun photoshoot! My daughter loved posing with props that went with her princess outfit. You can even ask a helpful Cast Member in the shop if you can also get "pixie dusted" as you make your own wish! This experience is short and sweet, but it has always been fun and meaningful for my family. Don't worry, the pixie dust washes out easily!
Your wish organization is your primary source for details about your wish trip. For specific questions and the most accurate information, please reach out to them directly. As you prepare for your visit, we also recommend downloading the My Disney Experience Mobile App to help you plan and make the most of your trip.
Please keep in mind that Magic Kingdom Park is typically the most popular park on New Year's Eve, and it will likely reach capacity, meaning it will be crowded. Pack your patience and your sense of humor, and plan to take your time getting from one place to another. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy the special New Year's fireworks spectacular, "
Fantasy in the Sky," at both 7:30 pm and 11:50 pm, so you can ring in the New Year at the most convenient time for your family!
Robyn, I hope this is helpful to you as you continue to count down to your arrival and to the New Year! It means so much that you trust us for vacation planning advice and information. Please swing back by planDisney - just like Tarzan - with any other questions you have!
Happy celebrating!
Jennifer
