Welcome to planDisney, Robert.
Let me begin by offering my congratulations! 50 years of marriage is such a wonderful achievement. Bravo! There is no better way to celebrate such an occasion than a family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort. As you mentioned, you'll be able to enjoy the
50th Anniversary Celebration during your visit. That means there is already plenty of EARidescent excitement for you to experience and enjoy. However, if you're looking to sprinkle some extra pixie dust on your trip, then I've got a few ideas for you.
If you visit
Disney Floral & Gifts, you'll find a variety of unforgettable gift ideas, such as
celebratory baskets, floral arrangements, and balloon bouquets.
Another idea is to book a Capture Your Moment photo session at
Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT,
Disney's Animal Kingdom, or
Disney's Hollywood Studios. These personalized 20-minute photo sessions are a perfect way to capture the memory of your 50th wedding anniversary. You could even get a variety of pictures together with different members of the family. It's surprising how many pictures you can take in 20 minutes!
And what's a celebration without a feast? Did you know that Walt Disney World has a myriad of wonderful
dining options? Some of my personal recommendations would be California Grill, Cítricos, Jiko – The Cooking Place, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Narcoosee’s, Steakhouse 71, Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera, or Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. The planDisney team has also put together
a list of recommendations.
To complement your meal, you could also order a special
Mickey Mouse celebration cake, which you can pre-order (choosing the flavor, size, and custom engraving) and have it delivered to any participating restaurant.
If you'd like to do something truly unforgettable, then have a look at the
Enchanting Extras Collection. There are loads of magical experiences to choose from, such as
unique fireworks viewings,
spectacular shows, and fascinating
behind-the-scenes tours.
Finally, when you arrive, stop by Guest Relations at any Theme Park and inform a Cast Member that you're celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary. They'll give you some special anniversary buttons, which you can wear throughout your trip. Cast Members and fellow Guests will see those buttons and be able to give you their congratulations. My wife and I did this for our 5th-year anniversary and it made our trip extra special.
I hope that gives you plenty of food for thought, Robert. See ya real soon!
Mike
