Hello my Disney World! We have booked a stay at Port Orleans Riverside. We will be in the Alligator Bayou area and I need to confirm that there is access to an HDMI port on the room TV. Streaming connectivity is a problem for us.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, Eric! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question today. I'm so excited to help with your Walt Disney World Resort question and ready to make some magic!

Disney's Port Orleans Resort is one of my favorite places to stay at Walt Disney World. The Louisiana vibes make me feel like I just stepped into The Princess and the Frog. We've stayed in both the Riverside and French Quarter sections and I just can't pick a favorite!  Whichever resort we choose, I love being able to walk between the two properties along the Sassagoula River, and it's also one of my favorite routes for a morning run. As an added bonus, I can strategically end my run at Scat Cat's Club-Cafe for some delicious beignets!

Eric, I certainly appreciate you thinking ahead to entertainment options for your upcoming vacation. We usually try and build some downtime into our Disney vacations, which often includes watching an episode or two of a favorite show while we enjoy some snacks (more opportunities for beignets!). As various resorts at Walt Disney World have been renovated in the past few years, the in-room televisions are all being replaced with Smart TVs that have an HDMI port. I spoke with a helpful Cast Member who confirmed that rooms in the Alligator Bayou section have updated televisions--so you will be good to go for streaming all of your favorites!

As you continue preparations for your upcoming trip to the bayou, here are a few other tips to make your Port Orleans vacation extra-magical!
    • For an after-hours treat, head to Scat Cat's Club-Lounge (located at the French Quarter), where you can enjoy nightly live jazz music while enjoying some New Orleans-inspired fare!
    • Boatwright's Dining Hall is a family favorite for a delicious sit-down dinner, located in the Riverside section. The Jambalaya is out of this world!
    • Enjoy an evening Horse Drawn Excursion - Carriage Ride along the banks of the Sassagoula! This is such a fun family experience. I suggest making an advance reservation beginning 60 days from your check-in date.
I hope this information is just what you were looking for, Eric! Thanks again for visiting planDisney, and please don't hesitate to visit us again if we can help with any other questions.
