Hello! We are all going to Disney World in August with our kids (7&11), grandparents and my “little brother”. And I was wondering if the strollers the parks have for hire would be big enough for both my kids. Thank you so much! Sandy

Hi, Sandra!  It would be my pleasure to provide you with some information on stroller rentals at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Many guests enjoy the convenience of renting a stroller at the Walt Disney World theme parks.  You don't need to worry about traveling with your own stroller, and you need not be concerned about your stroller meeting the guidelines discussed in the Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules.  Renting a stroller upon arrival at the theme parks is a great option for many families.  According to the stroller rental information on the Walt Disney World website, single strollers are recommended for children 50 pounds or less and double strollers are recommended for children 100 pounds or less.

My own daughter is 11 years old.  Although she is very petite, I do not think she would be able to ride comfortably in one of the rental strollers.  Even from a young age, my daughter really disliked riding in a stroller.  In fact, she has been walking around the Walt Disney World Resort without using a stroller since she was 3 years old.  While I wouldn't necessarily recommend anyone with children that young attempt to visit the theme parks without a stroller, there are plenty of ways for guests of all ages to rest their legs during a day of fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, take advantage of the complimentary resort transportation and return to your resort hotel for a mid-day break.  You can take a nap or relax at the pool and then return to the theme parks refreshed.

If you prefer to stay in the parks, look for attractions or shows with long durations that will give your family a chance to rest their feet.  The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is my family's go-to attraction when we want to sit down for a bit and catch a cool breeze.  My family also likes to schedule a table-service meal each day to give us a chance to sit down and relax.

If I had to guess, I think your kiddos will be so busy taking in all the magic that the Walt Disney World Resort has to offer, that they will not even think about their tired feet.  There are so many new and exciting things happening this year at the Walt Disney World Resort.  I'm sure you will agree that now more than ever, it's a great time to visit!

    Have a magical day!
    Samantha
