    We are going to Disney World April 2014, I was wondering if Disney still excepts Disney Dollars. If I have a family who is going and would like them to pick some up for us. Just don't want to buy them if we can't use them. Thanks

    Hi Mary!

    My family has been using Disney Dollars for years, we love the colorful designs and characters.  Disney Dollars are accepted at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Stores, they can be used for merchandise, food, tickets and just about anywhere at Walt Disney World.  They come in denominations of $1, $5 and $10 dollars and can be purchased at Guest Services located in any park or Downtown Disney.  You may be able to purchase them at your Disney Resort's front desk, but I have found that the front desk is often sold out of this fun currency.

    Disney Gift Cards are also a great way to set budgets and keep from carrying cash or credit cards in the parks.  Disney Gift Cards can be used the same way as Disney Dollars and are accepted just about anywhere on Walt Disney World property and they can also be used online as opposed to Disney Dollars.  Gift Cards come in a variety of fun designs and can even be personalized with your own photographs. I will give each one of my children their own Disney Gift Card to use for spending money, it is really helpful reminding them of their budget.
