does the disney world app only work when youre in the area of the park? im in nc trying to plan ahead and it will not work at all.

    Howdy, Ashley!

Welcome to planDisney. We are so excited you are here!

The My Disney Experience app is such a fabulous tool! It's like having the magical world of Disney right in the palm of your hand. I often check the app to keep up to date on the latest news, offerings, and so much more. Even when I don't have a Walt Disney World Resort vacation coming up, you'll find me checking the attraction wait times every so often, just out of curiosity! Strange, I know, but I like living vicariously through Guests enjoying their vacation until I can book one of my own! Such is the life of Disney fan with a major case of wanderlust!

Ashley, I'm so sorry to hear you are having trouble with your My Disney Experience app. You should absolutely be able to access the app from home, so it looks like you may be experiencing some sort of glitch. How frustrating! My first recommendation would be to restart your device to see if that does it. If that doesn't help, you may want to check to see if you are using the latest version of the app. You can usually verify this by visiting the app store on your device and searching for the My Disney Experience app. From there, if you see an option to "update," you're most likely using an older version. Next, follow the prompts to update the app, and hopefully, that does the trick! If not, try deleting the app from your device and re-downloading it. I've done this in the past when other applications were giving me trouble, and this seems to help! Now, if all else fails, there is a wonderful team of Cast Members with the My Disney Experience Support Team that will be happy to help you out. You can reach them at (407) 939-4357.

In the meantime, I would recommend logging into your My Disney Experience account via your web browser to get to planning! Once logged in, hover over the My Disney Experience logo in the upper right corner and select "My Plans." From here, you can get started by exploring Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservations, theme park ticket options, dining reservations, and more. I also recommend taking a look around Disney Parks Blog, where you'll find the latest Walt Disney World news, plus updates on events and offerings to enjoy on your vacation. This is always one of my first stops when planning a visit to ensure I don't miss out on anything new and exciting! If you're like me and love all things FOOD, be sure to check out their awesome Foodie Guides to see new menu items and start putting together your list of must-have bites for your vacation! I always have a running checklist on my phone of can't miss snacks for my next visit.

Ashley, I do hope this answer has been helpful to you! Please stop by again if you have any other questions. We are happy to help!

    Until next time,
