how does disney work with a 21 year old that has borderline personality disorder

    Hello, Niki!

Walt Disney World Resort strives to provide all Guests an inclusive environment. I suggest looking at Services for Guests with Disabilities which contains helpful planning tools for both cognitive and physical disabilities.

For my son who has special needs, I have found that planning is key. We often utilize morning hours, which typically offer fewer crowds and attraction wait times are often shorter. My son also likes a visual schedule so using the My Disney Experience mobile app is a great way to see our reserved FastPass+ experiences or dining reservations we have for that day. I have also found that we need to take a break from the parks; sometimes that is just spending the day at our Disney Resort hotel or enjoying the day poolside.

Also take a look at Disability Access Service (DAS) which allows the recipient (and up to 5 Guests) to obtain return time to experience an attraction later. During this virtual return time, you are welcome to grab a snack, experience another attraction or wait in a quiet area. If this is something that might work for your family member, then stop by any theme park Guest Relations lobby to speak to a Cast Member about your situation.

Niki, my space is limited, but if you write back with your family member's interests (favorite character or attraction) I would love to offer more suggestions to assist you in your planning! I look forward to hearing from you soon!
