Ahoy, Trish!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You're asking about one of my favorite traditions while setting sail with Captain Mickey and his friends. I love collecting ornaments from our voyages aboard Disney Cruise Line. I make sure one of my souvenirs each voyage is an ornament for our Christmas tree commemorating the cruise! Each ornament usually has the cruise itinerary on it, but sometimes it's an ornament with Mickey and Minnie dressed in their finest cruisewear or a miniature version of our ship!
In my experience, there hasn't been a Cast Member onboard the Disney Wonder personalizing ornaments during our cruise. With that being said, I'd love to share with you what I've done in the past in order to have my Disney Cruise Line ornaments personalized!
I wanted to personalize the ornament purchased during my son's first voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line. I bought an ornament during the cruise, saved the receipt, and brought the ornament along with us during our next Walt Disney World Resort vacation. I went to the
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe located in Magic Kingdom Park in Liberty Square and explained to them that I had purchased this ornament onboard our most recent Disney Cruise and asked if I could have it personalized with his name and our sail date. The ornament was finished by the end of the day and I walked out of Magic Kingdom Park with a beautiful, personalized ornament! To this day, it's one of my favorite ornaments on the tree!
Trish, I can't guarantee that bringing an ornament purchased aboard Disney Cruise Line (with the receipt) to Walt Disney World Resort will result in it getting personalized; however, I've been able to have it done in the past, so it's definitely worth a try the next time you visit Walt Disney World Resort after your upcoming voyage!
