We are going on the Disney Wonder 7 Night cruise to Mexico for Thanksgiving week 2012. Should we be concerned about the food and water during our travels? Also, can we bring bottled water and other snacks onto the ship for our convenience?

    Hi Tracy!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise!  You can bring bottled water onboard as long as it's still sealed.  The same goes for snacks.  The snacks must be prepackaged and still sealed.  You can also order a water bottle package on Disney Cruise Line's Gifts & Amenities webpage. That way, you won't have to worry about carrying heavy water bottles onboard with you.

Although I've never had any problems with the food and drinks in the Mexican ports, I have to admit that I do worry a little.  I make a point of eating a good breakfast onboard before getting off to explore the port.  I take drinks and a couple of snacks with me.  By the time I'm done visiting the port it's time to get back for dinner.  If you're hungry mid-day you can always head back to the ship for lunch, and then disembark again.

I hope this helps Tracy.  Have a magical sailing!
