We will be on The Disney Wonder in July 2011. What is the fees for using cell phone on the ship? We would like to have communication with our children since I'm betting we wont be seeing mucj of them. Does DCL have it;s one charges?

    Hi Kristine,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  I understand how you feel about wanting to keep connected while at sea.

Cell phone and wireless PDA service is available in guest staterooms on an advanced roaming network provided by Wireless Maritime Services (WMS), which is compatible with most cellular carriers.

You should verify with your carrier before you leave that they do have an agreement with the WMS mobile network.  Rates are determined by your carrier, and all charges will be made by your carrier on your regular mobile phone bill.  You can check out www.cellularatsea.com for more information.

One other note - if you are looking to keep connected with others on the ship, we always bring either a magnetic dry erase board or the large sticky notes to leave messages and keep tabs on everyone.  I've also seen lots of guests with two-way radios, but I haven't tried them so I can't attest to their clarity and connectivity.

    Hope this helps!
