Ahoy, Kathleen -
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question. We were just on the Disney Wonder a little over a month ago, and I miss it already. Sailing with Captain Mickey is so much fun and your 8 & 10 year old buccaneers will surely get to know the ins and outs of the ship quite quickly.
The Oceaneer Lab and Oceaneer Club are 2 separate themed areas on the Disney Wonder. Unlike the other ships, the Disney Wonder has 2 separate entrances across from each other on Deck 5 midship. Many evenings, my kids would close the place down, and I'd have to pry them out of there just to go back home to our stateroom to get rested for the night. They really do enjoy the clubs. There is a connecting private hallway between the
Oceaneer Lab and Club, but access to that hallway is very limited. Youth Counselors need to escort anyone going through there, and kids are not allowed to use this hallway on their own. My son remembers going through that hallway once, and that was because they were transferring all the kids into 1 club.
Since they are 8 and 10, they might actually still enjoy both clubs - though they may gravitate towards the Lab at this age. I hope this info helps, Kathleen. Please do let us know if you have any additional questions that we can help with.
Wishing you a magical cruise!
