Hi there, Aman!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your adventure to
Alaska with Captain Mickey will be here before you know it and I am so excited for you! My family is also headed to Alaska this summer and it’s all I can think about these days! We visited previously but are really looking forward to trying some new excursions and seeing the beautiful sights again.
First things first…a big
YES to all your questions! Yes, you can certainly bring onboard a refillable water bottle – and I highly recommend doing so! We always travel with refillable tumblers to use at the 24-hour drink station. There are cups there, but they are on the smaller size and Disney Cruise Line has recently removed plastic straws and lids from the drink stations in an effort to help the environment so having a large tumbler or water bottle that you can refill is always handy!
Tiana’s Place is my most favorite restaurant onboard the Disney Wonder…and actually my favorite restaurant on any of the Disney Cruise Line ships! My family always looks forward to the Mardi Gras Party night where you are treated to true Cajun-cuisine, complete with live music and entertainment! My husband is from New Orleans, so all things Louisiana are favorites in my household, but I truly love Tiana’s Place... especially the white chocolate bread pudding and beignets! Order both…I guarantee you won’t regret it!
On embarkation day, one of my family’s first stops is
Cabanas for lunch! So, yes, it will be open for lunch once you get onboard and it is a great place to go when you are waiting for your stateroom to be ready. Once onboard, explore your new “home away from home” a bit and then head up for lunch…or have lunch before exploring! In addition to Cabanas buffet, one of the other main dining rooms will be open for a seated lunch and the poolside, quick-service spots will be open too!
Wishing you the most WONDERful of adventures in Alaska, Aman! Please come back with any other questions you may have!
Happy Sailing!
