(Disney Wish) When filling out pre-registration for our kids, all under 15, we used their birth certificate information. We have since received their passports. Can we use their passports on boarding day or will we need a copy of their birth certificates?

Ahoy there Wendall and welcome aboard planDisney!

It's always so wonderful to see our youngest sailors prepare for their ocean adventures and get their feet wet, so to speak. I also think it's fantastic that you've taken the initiative to have their passports ready to go ahead of your voyage; having experienced a number of situations living at sea over the past decade I personally always find it so beneficial to have your passport handy whenever you embark on any ocean voyage like your upcoming journey on the Disney Wish!

On Embarkation Day, you'll all want to be as ready as possible with your required documentation to avoid any delays or risk being denied boarding for any reason. I reached out to the Disney Cruise Line team who reiterated that it's important to ensure that the documents you uploaded when completing the Online Check-In Process are ready for you to present as you prepare to embark the ship. The Cast Members let me know that the agents and Port staff confirming identity documents at the Port have access to see the images that you've uploaded online, and will confirm that against what you have available to present to them; they recommend the best course of action for you in this case is to bring both a copy of their birth certificates as well as their passports just to be on the safe side. Generally for the destinations that the Disney Wish currently voyages to and from, the posted policy is that "Children 15 years of age and younger are required to present one of the documents listed above, but do not need to present a Government-issued photo ID."

Once you've made it on board, be sure to check out the Youth Spaces specially designed for each age group and take every opportunity to enjoy the scheduled Open House sessions together when you can - there's simply so much theming and Imagineering that went into these spaces on the Disney Wish that every guest should be able to see! In the meantime, don't hesitate to come back to us here at planDisney for any other tips, tricks or nautical knowledge ahead of your voyage.

Happy sailing on the Shimmering Seas!
