Hi there, Brad. I am wishing you a VERY special welcome to planDisney!
Oh my goodness! First and foremost, a huge congratulations to you and your wife. There is nothing more magical than knowing that in just a few months, a new little Mouseketeer will be joining your Disney family! I'm so happy for you! While I'm not a Fairy Godmother, I am a Fairy Grandmother. So, helping you is extra special for me, and as a fellow Guest, just like you, I'm here to share my best pixie-dusted advice!
I'm thrilled to hear that you'll be dining at Chef Mickey's! Of all the character dining experiences at Walt Disney World, this is my favorite dinner location! Brad, to answer your question, unfortunately, you won't be able to park at Disney's Contemporary Resort for the whole day. The parking spaces are reserved for overnight hotel Guests and those with dining and other reservations for a limited amount of time. But not to worry, because my planDisney magic wand is at the ready, and with a "bibbidi bobbidi boo," let me offer you some suggestions.
Brad, when you arrive at Magic Kingdom, you can opt for
Preferred Parking. This will allow you to park as close to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), where you will then hop on the monorail or ferry to the park entrance. Once you're ready to head over to the Contemporary for your reservation, you have a couple of options. When you exit the park, you can take the
Walt Disney World Monorail directly to the Contemporary lobby, where Chef Mickey's is located. Or, you can walk to your car and drive over to the Contemporary for your dining reservation. For Guests with reservations, parking at the hotel is complimentary for about a three-hour timeframe. If you plan on returning to the park after your dining reservation, I recommend taking the monorail.
I know this probably wasn't the answer you were hoping for, but I hope these suggestions help minimize walking. I do have a few other tips for you.
Be sure to use your
My Disney Experience app to check for rides that have advisories for pregnancy. To find rides to avoid, open the app, select the location icon, and then tap the filters icon. Scroll down to "Physical Considerations" and select "Expectant Mothers Advisory." Finally, tap "Show List" in the bottom right corner to see which rides are best to avoid. Also, be sure to enjoy attractions like Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, and
Mickey's PhilharMagic when your wife needs a little break.
Make sure to take plenty of pictures during your visit, and if you have some extra time, stop by
Pinocchio Village Haus. Not only will you find delicious food, but you'll also find the enchanting Blue Fairy Wish Book. In this book, the Blue Fairy invites Guests to write down their most special wishes and heartfelt desires. This is the perfect place to make a wish for your little one. Don't forget to take a picture of your wish to create a special keepsake from your magical trip!
Brad, I'm wishing on all the stars that you and your wife have a truly magical vacation! I hope that soon you'll become a superhero dad, like Mr. Incredible, to your little one. Before you know it, the next time you visit Chef Mickey's, you'll have a Mouseketeer excited to meet Mickey! Please let us know if we can help you again for this vacation or your next one!
Magical memories,
Shonette
