Disney website says reservations can be made 490 days in advance which would be February 2021. We are trying to make reservations for January 2021 and the site will not allow it. When will the reservation window open for January 2021?

    Hello Lisa!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love a fellow planner. I am currently planning my vacations out to the summer of 2021 as well! Yes, you can book a Walt Disney World room-only reservation up to 499 days in advance of your check-out day. However, this can only be done over the phone, and it sounds as if you are currently trying to book online. Over the phone, you’ll be able to secure your room and make a deposit. The final price will be available once room rates for that timeframe have been released.

Online booking and the booking of vacation packages is not available until room pricing for that year comes out. Generally, room pricing is released the summer before. For travel in 2021, rates are likely to come out in the summer of 2020. Once those rates are released, you should be able to book online! If you have your heart set on a specific resort and dates, I think it is always wise to call 1-407-W-DISNEY and reserve your room now, so you aren’t disappointed later. If a Special Offer comes out for your dates, you can always call and if there is availability, you may even be able to rebook with that special offer!

I hope this helps Lisa, and I hope you’ll continue to visit us here on the Moms Panel as you plan your trip. We love to talk Disney!

    Happy Planning!
