Hi Disney Moms!! Who has been at WDW on Thanksgiving? Where are the best places for a family to eat? And what are your other tips and tricks?

    Hi Jennifer!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I loved spending Thanksgiving at the most magical place on earth! When I first started planning my vacation, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I had heard that the crowds were heavy and that dining could be a challenge. However, I also heard that if you do enough planning, spending Thanksgiving at the Walt Disney World Resort can be a memorable experience.

My favorite place to dine on Thanksgiving was at the Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom. Here they serve up a delicious American Thanksgiving meal. I had the most tender Turkey I’ve ever tasted. Your meal is served family-style and is all you care to eat. I love the family-style atmosphere and the décor of this stately colonial-style inn, transports you back to the days of our founding fathers.  Another favorite spot for some of my Disney Parks Moms Panel family is California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. I’ve always had an exquisite dining experience here. If you aren’t dining during Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After fireworks show, you can bring your receipt back to the check-in podium and get an escort back up to California Grill to enjoy the show on the outside observation deck!

To make the most of your time while vacationing over the Thanksgiving holiday, I suggest planning in advance. Dining reservations can be made 180 days in advance of your stay. I highly recommend booking any sit-down meals. I also recommend taking advantage of making your FastPass+ return times. If you are staying at the Walt Disney World Resort, FastPass+ selections can be made 60 days in advance. I also like to sit down with my family and decide on our top five “must-do’s” in each Theme Park. We tackle our must-do attractions and entertainment choices first.

Lastly, make sure to take time to enjoy spending this holiday together as a family.
