Hiya, Audrey! Thanks for coming back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Your Magical vacation is getting so close, I hope you're excited! I, too, love
Magic Kingdom Park. Traveling with my kids, there are so many things to see and do. Has your 5-year-old yet coasted through the mines on
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? It's one of our favorites!
Speaking of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, you bring up a great question about
Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom Park. This after hours event does provide access to 25 attractions throughout the park with Villain themed shows.
Audrey, while I would say that Disney Villains After Hours is not intended to be scary, there are mild elements of frightfulness built into the stage shows and overall atmosphere to go along with the Villain theme. My littlest guy, who is now six, sometimes isn't afraid of anything but at other times he is. I have found with these types of events at the Walt Disney World Resort, I like to make our family's determination based on their reactions to the movies. Featured in the stage show is Hades, Meg, The Queen, Maleficent, Jafar and more. I would say if your little one is able to watch the movies with those characters, it might be a good indication you'll have a successful night.
My other recommendation would be, if you purchase your tickets, make sure to enter the park right at 7:00 pm and enjoy the two hours prior to the After Hours event officially beginning. If the stage show might be too much, head back to Fantasyland and take a spin on the teacups at the
Mad Tea Party! That attraction always brings the giggles in my family.
However you spend your evenings, I hope your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is full of memories you can cherish for years to come!
