Dannette, hello and welcome to
planDisney. I'm so glad you've dropped by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.
Are you getting so excited, Dannette? Your most magical trip is only in about one month's time. That will go by so fast and you'll be making memories with your loved ones that will last a lifetime. I hope the countdown is on!
I love Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. In fact, my family and I love it there so much we stay for a week over Christmas each year. It's so festive and fun. There are so many great things to see and do at The Fort (as it is so lovingly nicknamed) and horseback riding is one of the best!
Horseback riding is an experience for Guests ages 9 and up. Mickey Mouse is a pretty trusting guy and I have never been asked to verify my daughter's age at any of the experiences we have done at Walt Disney World. It never hurts to be prepared so maybe through her passport in your bag just in case but honestly if you leave it at home that would be just fine too. If your daughter is not yet 9 years old, there are also
pony rides available. Pony Riders must be at least 2 years of age, under 80 pounds, no taller than 48 inches and able to hang on by themselves. A parent or guardian must lead the pony at all times. This could be a fun option depending on the age of your daughter.
After horse-ing around the trails of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, I hope you'll stay to enjoy a meal. One of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat is the quick-service dining location there -
P & J's Southern Takeout. There are plenty of outdoor picnic tables around for you to enjoy your meal there since it is to-go only. There are plenty of
menu offerings but the fried chicken meal is the best. I recommend it 10 out of 10. This dinner comes with 8 pieces of golden fried chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and a loaf of cornbread. It's finger-lickin' good!
I hope you enjoy your day at The Fort, Dannette. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Have fun!
Jackie H.
