Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Janet. We're delighted to see you! You've come to the right place as you prepare for your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We'd love to help you plan a magical stay!
The Walt Disney World Resort is committed to making sure that all Guests have a safe and accessible visit. I'm pleased to tell you that most dining locations make an exceptional effort to accommodate Guests with dietary concerns. At most
table-service and
quick-service restaurants, you can ask to speak with a chef or a Cast Member specializing in special diets. They'll be happy to assist you in selecting meals that are safe for the T1Diabetic kiddos in your travel party. If you would feel more at ease speaking with the Special Diets Team
ahead of your arrival, they can be reached by emailing Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. I encourage you to take some time to review the
Special Dietary Requests page on the Walt Disney World Resort website. There you'll find tips and important information to help you navigate dining experiences during your stay.
You can absolutely enter the theme parks with your required insulin. While your backpack or cooler
will be searched when you go through the security checkpoints, rest assured that you'll have no trouble getting through with your insulin. It's important to note that loose ice is not permitted in the theme parks, so to keep your insulin nice and cool for your pixie-dusted adventures, you'll need either reusable ice packs or bagged ice (ice from your hotel's ice machine placed into a sealed bag would be just fine).
First Aid Centers are available at all four theme parks and Disney Springs. There you'll find medical assistance, should you need it!
I hope this was helpful, Janet. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your upcoming Disney vacation!
