Ahoy There, Maurice!
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. While I've yet to experience all the excitement of a Disney Cruise Line voyage, it's at the
very top of my Disney vacation bucket list. I'm so excited to hear that you're thinking of setting sail on the high seas with your family next year –– I think you're in for an amazing adventure!
With a little help from my fellow Disney Cruise Line Panelist,
Adrianna H., I learned that while there isn't a set date, upcoming cruise itineraries have historically been announced about 15 months before sailing. If this pattern continues, that means Fall 2023 itineraries should be released later this summer. For all the latest news and updates about these dates, be sure to keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog and the
Disney Cruise Line website. If you're planning to use Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points to book your cruise,
Points Charts are typically released around the same time that future itinerary dates become available. Once those charts have been published, you'll be able to begin booking your cruise by calling Member Services at (800) 800-9800.
Since the
booking process for a Disney Collection exchange (including Disney Cruise Line) is a little different from normal DVC reservations, there are a few details I'd like to share with you. Each confirmed Disney Collection exchange reservation is subject to a non-refundable $95 transaction fee, due at the time of booking. Disney Cruise Line reservations are also subject to the
Rule of Four, which means they can't be booked during the last four months of your Use Year if your travel dates occur during that same year. And finally, once your Vacation Points have been converted to Reservation Points for the exchange, they can no longer be used to book Disney Vacation Club reservations. That means if your cruise reservation needs to be modified or canceled, those Points can't be used to book stays at a
Disney Vacation Club Resort. The good news, though, is that they can be used to book another Disney Collection exchange before those Points expire at the end of your Use Year.
Thanks for visiting planDisney, Maurice. If you think of more Disney vacation planning questions, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always here to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Amy
