Hey Howdy Hey, Beverly!
Yeehaw! Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I always love connecting with fellow Disney Vacation Club Members and helping them plan their vacations to their home away from home because, after all, you've got a friend in me.
Beverly, you most certainly can use
MagicBands or MagicBands+ that you have previously purchased. I use the same ones for every trip. They aren't required, but they are like your own personal magic wand to make your Disney vacation a bit easier.
Some of the magic your band can do includes opening your Disney Resort Hotel room door, accessing the pool areas of your Disney Resort, charging purchases to your account, entering the theme parks, entering Lightning Lanes, and if you have the MagicBand+, they even light up in certain areas of the park or during some of the Disney shows! It makes it easier, so you do not have to have a Key To The World Card, and it's a great way to show off your Disney side! I recently purchased the
Stitch one, and it's a fun way to show off my favorite character (even if he is a smidge naughty).
Now, one thing to note, Beverly, is that the bands are not transferable. By this, I mean that you can certainly use your previous bands as long as they were once assigned to you (and other bands assigned to other members in your party). If the bands belonged to a different person or a different
My Disney Experience account, typically, they can't be transferred to a new person or a new account. But if they were previously connected, they are either still connected or can be reconnected.
If you can't remember which band belonged to which person, or if they have gotten disconnected from your My Disney Experience account, you can try to reconnect them in your My Disney Experience app. Alternatively, you can stop by the Front Desk of your Resort when you check in or stop by Guest Services in one of the theme parks. The Cast Members there are like your own Fairy Godparents who can make magic happen for you by connecting your bands to the account. They might just need a little more pixie dust to get it connected. Sometimes the band doesn't work to get you into your room on the first try, but it is an easy fix at the Front Desk.
I hope this helps you, Beverly! You are going to have a hootin' and hollerin' good time at Disney. If you have any further questions, giddy-up back here to see me. I'll be sure to lasso you up an answer.
Happy Trails,
Keri
