Disney vacation club how do you become a member

Hi there, Cherie! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you decided to be our guest--now relax, let us pull up a chair, as I proudly present.....tips for joining Disney Vacation Club!

Our family became DVC Members nearly ten years ago after doing lots of homework to make sure it was the right decision for us--and we've never regretted it! Membership has allowed us to have all sorts of amazing Disney adventures, from our home base of Walt Disney World Resort to Disneyland Resort, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney's Vero Beach Resort. We're able to stay in deluxe-level accommodations with all of the comforts of home, including full kitchens and laundry in many cases!  Next up on my list is a trip to Disneyland Paris using our Vacation Points.

There is a wealth of information for prospective members on the DVC website and it's a good place to start to understand how Membership works and get an idea of the financial implications. New Members can pay in full for their deed or finance the purchase. Each resort has an "expiration date" which is typically 50 years from the resort's opening, and Members pay annual dues for the life of the deed. For instance, our Home Resort, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, has an expiration date of 2066 based on its 2016 opening.

Members purchase a set number of Vacation Points--if you purchase 200 points with a June Use Year, this means that you will receive 200 points every June 1 for the duration of your contract.  If you wish to combine points for a longer trip or larger accommodations for a big family trip, you can bank or borrow points to make this a reality!

My best advice is to connect with a DVC Guide who can walk you through the process and answer any questions you have. They will also be up to date on all of the latest and greatest incentives available for new Members. You can schedule a virtual meeting or an on-demand webinar--or meet in person with a Cast Member at a Disney location when you visit in December.

Cherie, I hope this information is helpful to get you started on the path to Membership. If I can answer any questions from a Member perspective, please reach out anytime! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney.
