Welcome to planDisney, Dawn and thanks for dropping by with this very important question.
Dawn, the year 2020 has definitely been one that's thrown a wrench in travel plans, mine included, so I appreciate this question. Currently the
Disney Vacation Club policy regarding cancellation reads, "April, June, August, September and October 2019 Use Year Points that are set to expire in 2020 and that were used for reservations during the closure period have been extended for one year from the current expiration date."
Dawn, since we're halfway through November and your points are set to expire, I would recommend
calling into Member Services as soon as you're able and speaking with a Cast Member (
make sure to have your Membership ID number handy before you call). While I can't guarantee how they can help, my experience is that they have been very understanding and sympathetic to their Members.
Dawn, I hope this helps as you are rethinking what travel might look like for you and your family. Whenever you ARE next able to make a trip to the
Most Magical Place on Earth, I hope it's everything dreams are made of. In the meantime, if you're missing the Magic of Walt Disney World and want to bring it into your home from the comfort of your couch, check out the
Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom, streaming on Disney+. My kids and I swear this is the next best thing to being there in person.
Thanks again, Dawn for stopping by planDisney. Please come back and see us with any other questions you might have.
