I see Disney has updated costume guidelines for rundisney events. Layered costumes & capes below the waist aren't allowed. I'm running next month when it is usually colder and was wondering if a blanket/large piece of fabric is still allowed in

    Hi Jacqueline!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I just returned from Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and the morning of the half marathon was a bit chilly.  I did take a mylar blanket that I had from a previous race with me.  I (along with many other runners) was allowed to go through with no problem.  If you have something like that, you may be asked to open it, but I didn't see any issues with them at all.

I kept my blanket on until my corral started and then placed it on the side of the road.  The next morning, I wore an old sweatshirt that I shed around mile two of the marathon. Disney will gather any clothing along the course and they donate it to charitable causes.  It always makes me smile when I shed a layer, knowing that it will help someone else out!

Here is a link to the new runDisney costume guidelines in case you need them.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions as you prepare for Princess!
