Disney trip this year kids request tent camping at Fort Wilderness campground. We have 7 in our family kids ages are 10, 10, 7, 5, 2 . Any suggestions for when booking site or freebies to do when there??our trip is short 3days 2 nights

    Eduardo:

There's so much to do at Fort Wilderness, and best of all, you don't have to pay for many activities. Here are a few things to put on your list:

    • Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-along. This must-do combines a meet-and-greet with Chip 'n' Dale with a cowboy leading familiar songs for all to join in. Bring some marshmallows for the fire pits. The evening ends with a movie under the stars.
    • Take a dip in the pool. There's a water fun station for your younger ones and a slide for the older ones.
    • Do you have any horse lovers in the family? Head over to the stables behind Pioneer Hall and enjoy a tour to see the horses that lead the wagons on Main Street. Afterward, head over to the nearby playground for the kids to unwind.
    • To end an evening, make your way down to the marina to catch the Electric Water Pageant featuring lit floats on the water. Make sure you have the schedule of the fireworks at nearby Magic Kingdom so you can enjoy them from the beach, too.
    • Speaking of the marina, take the water shuttle over to the Contemporary and ride the monorail for a complete loop to check out the sights.
    • If you feel like you need a change of pace from the campground (but I seriously doubt it if you're only there for three days), consider taking one of the buses at The Outpost to Downtown Disney to go window shopping, check out the Lego statues and get some free chocolate at the Ghirardelli store.

Wishing y'all a magical vacation at the fort!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
