This is our 1st Disney trip w/our 3 daughters, 9, 8 & 4 yrs. Me & my husband have been trying to decide if we really need the Park Hopper option. We think the kids will be too tired to go to another park in the evening. Why would we need need this

This is actually a great question Chris, as I had wondered the same a while back and now have been there, done that, so I can share my advice with you.
I have done the Park Hopper option (thought it was great) but also wanted to save some money once and believed we did not need to visit more than one park a day another time we visited, so I got the regular passes (only one park per day).  I found that it was well worth the extra few bucks to get the park hopper option especially since we stay at a Disney World resort and can benefit from the Extra Magic Hours.  We go to one park extra early hours and then retrieve back midday for a break and a swim, then back to another park in the evening after being well rested (worked much better this way instead of going a full day in one park) especially with the younger ones.
I also have to add that there always seems to be something we want to really see or do in more than one park a day and this option lets us fulfill that.
May your vacation be filled with lots of Pixie Dust!!!
