Hi Disney Moms - travelling from UK to WDW on 11/09 for two weeks - very excited! 2 adults & our twin girls who will celebrate their 1st birthday whilst we're on vacation. Please could you share your top tips for a great vacation? Thank you very much.

Where do I start? Two weeks at Walt Disney World will allow you to do what many don't feel they can do at Disney, which is to relax. So that's my first tip. Here are some others:

    • Most especially because you have little ones, plan on heading back to your room as soon as lunch is over. Use the afternoon for naps, wading in the pool or just sitting on your balcony taking in your resort view. This would be my advice whether you had children or not. Returning to the parks in the evening rested allows you to follow my first tip of relaxing.
    • Don't feel like you have to do everything. I've been to WDW over 30 times and there are still attractions and restaurants I have not explored. Choose to tour well over checking off everything. Use the My Disney Experience link on the website to choose your must-dos and let secondary attractions wait for another trip.
    • Visit the smaller parks (Disney Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom) on the weekdays and the larger parks (Animal Kingdom and Epcot) on the weekends. Crowds are larger on the weekends and the more expansive parks can absorb the higher attendance.
    • Don't miss each park's fireworks show.
    • Consider splurging on a hotel that is within proximity to the parks. Especially with children who will be in strollers, having the ability to either walk or take the monorail or even a boat to your resort saves time and the hassle of folding up your stroller for a bus ride.
    • For a trip as long as yours, choosing either one of the Magic Kingdom or Epcot resorts gives you more from which to visit outside the parks. You'll tire easily of the food courts at the more isolated Value and even Moderate resorts.
    • If you already haven't, make sure to book your FastPass+ selections before you arrive.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
