Hi Thomas!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I am very excited to see that you are travelling to Orlando for Christmas. It is a very special time of the year to be there, and the decorations around the whole of the Walt Disney World Resort are very beautiful. If you have time to visit any of the Disney Resort hotels to see their individually designed Christmas displays, I would highly recommend it. The Gingerbread house at
Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is not to be missed!
Coming from the UK myself, I am always doing the calculations to ensure we get the most out of our magical days at Walt Disney World! If you wish to purchase single-day tickets on the gate for the Walt Disney World theme parks, you absolutely can do this. From what I understand, the prices are comparable to buying online from the
official website here. Just ensure that the country shown in the top right corner is United States (English), and not UK & Ireland (English) - just click on it to change it. Online purchases will give you access to making
FastPass+ reservations ahead of your visit, whereas if you buy them at the park on the day of your visit, there may not be many FastPass+ selections remaining, especially during this very popular time of the year. Current prices, which are subject to change, for a 1-day park ticket for December 2019, range between $117-$159 + tax (for adults, 10 years and over). However, if you are intending to spend more than two days at any of the Walt Disney World theme parks, I recommend the
Ultimate Tickets which are available exclusively to Guests from the UK and Ireland. These are available for 7, 14, and 21 days, include unlimited park hopping to all four parks and water parks, and
Memory Maker. These are such a good offer, and I would really consider calculating the cost of both types of tickets to ensure you secure the best value for your family. It's worth noting that the magical extras (park hopping, water parks and Memory Maker) can also be purchased to add to your 1-day tickets bought at the theme park gates or online from the website.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help.
