Does the Disney Travel Protection Plan (aka Insurance) cover your flight cost and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Party tickets? I haven't purchased the party tickets or airfare yet, do those two need to be bought BEFORE I add insurance?

    Hey there, Danielle!

Your autumn excursion to Walt Disney World will be here before you know it, and I love that you are making sure you’ve got all your bases covered. It’s always good to be prepared for any eventuality!

I talked with a helpful Cast Member, and they assured me that special event tickets, such as tickets for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, would be covered by the Travel Protection Plan. Looking over the benefits, it appears that the cost of airfare is also covered by the plan if your plane tickets are scheduled for travel within 7 days of your vacation package.

The Travel Protection Plan can be added any time before final payment, and the Cast Member I spoke with said that items added after purchase of the plan (such as airfare and special event tickets) would be covered by the trip insurance. I’d suggest speaking with a representative from Aon Affinity, the program administrator, or calling the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations and Tickets phone line if you have other questions about the Travel Protection Plan.

You’re going to have a ghastly good time on your fall Walt Disney World trip! While the dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party have been released, along with some preliminary details, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for more updates as the spooky season approaches. I’m always excited to see what new snacks are treats will be available, but the Madam Leota Seance Candle red velvet cake, which debuted last year, sounds particularly intriguing to me.

I hope this information helps with your vacation planning, Danielle. Pop right back to planDisney if any other questions arise, and we’ll do whatever we can to help you have a grim, grinning good time!

Boo to you and magical travels!
