Hiya Byron,
Welcome to planDisney! Every time I land at Orlando International Airport, a huge smile comes across my face because that means I’m about to embark on yet another magical vacation at Walt Disney World Resort. My Prince Charming jokes that it doesn’t matter what happened during the flight; nothing can stop me once my feet hit the jetway.
Before I head off to book a flight, let’s talk about getting you prepared for your upcoming vacation. While the Magical Express retired in 2022, there are still multiple ways to get from Orlando International Airport to your resort hotel at Walt Disney World. If you are looking for a shuttle similar to what you may be used to, then check out
Mears Connect. This cost-effective option is perfect for families traveling with small children because you don’t have to bring car seats on your trip, and kids under three are complimentary. Any option that saves me from checking additional luggage is a win for me so this is often our go-to! If you don’t want to wait for a shared shuttle (although in my experience, the wait isn’t too long), you can also schedule an express shuttle to your resort hotel. Byron, I’m not sure which resort hotel you are staying at, but if you're at a Deluxe Resort, you can make a Minnie Van reservation! They just recently introduced this service for Deluxe Resort Guests, and if you want a more private experience, it is one of the best (and must be booked through
Disney Signature Services)! It is definitely pricier than Mears (currently just under $250 one-way, subject to change), but I wanted to share it with you in case you were interested.
I hope this was helpful, Byron. Before I let you go, I wanted to share some other transportation options to Orlando International Airport as well. Since Orlando International is such a large hub, there are a plethora of rideshare and rental car services available. If we aren’t using Mears Connect, we will often rent a car just because, with the two kids, it is easier for us. If you need anything else, please come back and see
us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
