Welcome aboard, Terry! Disney Cruise Line makes it so easy for guests to transition from land to sea and back again with their cruise ground transfers in all of their home ports, including their main home port of Port Canaveral!
Guests flying into Orlando have a couple of options for
ground transfers. If they are flying in the morning of the cruise, they can book ground transfers from the Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral. Alternately, they may do what my family and I choose to do: fly in the day before, to ensure that any flight delays won't see us missing our ship. We make reservations for a night at one of the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, so we can enjoy even more Disney magic before we head out to sea. We take the complimentary Magical Express for resort guests from Orlando International Airport to the resort and for the next day, we book cruise ground transfers from our Disney resort to Port Canaveral. Then, the night before we set sail, we receive notice in our resort room about our exact pick up times for the next morning. Whether from the airport or the resorts, the motorcoach ride is about an hour long.
Disney also offers ground transfers from Port Canaveral, after your cruise, back to the Orlando International Airport, or to the resort hotels at Walt Disney World, for those guests staying at the resorts after their sailing. You can book these cruise ground transfers through your travel agent or by calling the Disney Cruise Line agents at (800) 951-3532. They'll be happy to add those transfers to your cruise reservation, and can also book resort hotels for you at Walt Disney World. The transfers cost $35 per person each way, but I promise they're the easiest way to begin and end your magical adventure at sea with Captain Mickey, Terry! Happy planning!
