Hey Adrian,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you’re here with this question about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. The Disney World Resort is about the size of two Manhattan islands, so it is pretty huge. It’s very smart to think about your transportation plans now. I’m grateful that I can help you think this question through.
All guests of the Disney World Resort are welcome to use
Disney’s complimentary transportation methods. There are no fees associated with using the Disney
bus system,
monorail,
skyliner, or
water taxis. These are all very effective transportation methods and you can even use the
My Disney Experience app to get help navigating around the resort using them. Simply open the app and tap on the map icon (second icon from the left at the bottom). Use the filters to select the location you want to go to, then tap on your destination (you can switch between attractions, dining, entertainment and other options at the very top of the app). Once you tap on a destination, you should see Get Directions as an option. When you tap on it, you can add your originating location and see the directions. If transportation is required, you’ll be able to see the directions right there in the app. This is a very cool feature that helps everyone navigate their vacations with ease and it really comes in handy when you’re park hopping.
The only Disney transportation option that is available for a fee is the
Minnie Van Service. This service is a private transportation option; vehicles are driven by Disney cast members. Pricing includes up to 2 car seats and there are even options to request an accessible ride for wheelchairs and ECVs.
While you’re here Adrian, I see that your 60 day window for
dining reservations and
Enchanting Extras is fast approaching. Be sure to set a reminder for your window so that you don’t forget to book anything you’re interested in. A few of my favorite restaurants around the resort are
Tiffins Restaurant in Animal Kingdom for cuisine with an international flair,
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs for comfort food, and
Steakhouse 71 inside Disney's Contemporary Resort for a great steak.
I hope this information is helpful, Adrian. If you need any additional help with planning be sure to visit us at planDisney again. We’ll see ya real soon!
