Hello, Tabitha!
Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Traveling to
Walt Disney World is always a magical visit, but arriving around the holidays is even better!
When my family visits The Most Magical Place on Earth on a holiday, we, too, like to keep some family tradition with us. Typically, this includes making an
Advanced Dining Reservation at a Walt Disney World Restaurant that we know will feature the usual Disney magic along with familiar holiday favorites as well. No worries, though, as you'll have plenty of Thanksgiving options throughout the parks and Walt Disney World Resorts!
First, know that very many Walt Disney World Table-Service restaurants will feature both some of their most popular dishes as well as a special Thanksgiving offering, created by the chef of that location. For my family and friends dining together at Thanksgiving, this means that those who love a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey and trimmings are satisfied, while those who don't care for turkey (gasp!) or are vegetarian are thrilled to find other delicious options for their holiday meal as well. Win-win-win!
In general, a very popular Thanksgiving atmosphere is, of course,
Magic Kingdom Park's
Liberty Tree Tavern, where the
Patriot's Platter puts roast turkey, pot roast, and pork on center stage every day. Check the lunch and dinner menus to see if this colonial-style location is just what your Thanksgiving needs.
Over at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, however, you'll find many Guests' favorite family kitchen is at
50's Prime Time Cafe. Be sure to eat your vegetables and don't talk back, though. At this family kitchen, anything less than good table manners will bring you some attention from Mom...just like home!
Be sure to check out
Table-Service locations at Walt Disney World Resort hotels, too. For example, while
Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort won't feel like
your home, it's home to our
host, Mickey Mouse! There, you'll enjoy a delicious buffet while Chef Mickey and Pals visit his Guests at their tables--what a great way to celebrate a family holiday together!
Keep in mind that menus are subject to change, but I suggest that you pick a location and then plan the rest of your day around that reservation. As the holiday approaches, check back on that park's, resort's, or restaurant's page, and look to see if the Thanksgiving menu additions have been posted. You're sure to have one most memorable Thanksgivings together this year, Tabitha. Enjoy!
Have fun planning your holiday trip to Walt Disney World, and be sure to send us more questions as you think of them. We love to help!
