We are going to be at Disney on Thanksgiving Day. Will there be restaurants having "Thanksgiving" type meals?

Most restaurants at WDW will have some special food offerings for the Thanksgiving holiday. You should be able to find some version of turkey and fixin's everywhere from the value resort food courts right on up to the signature dining venues. The exact menus for 2009 have not yet been released. However you can go to the independent website and search for an article called "Thanksgiving at Disney World 2008." You can see here what was offered for Thanksgiving last year, giving you a fair approximation of what you'll find in 2009. Not every restaurant is listed there, but you can rest assured that Thanksgiving will be celebrated everywhere.

I spent Thanksgiving 2008 at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary resort. There was a choice of four appetizers: jumbo California roll, butternut squash soup, pork pate, or a fall salad. The entree choices were: oak-fired filet of beef, seared scallops, butternut squash ravioli, grilled pork tenderloin, and of course, spit-roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, potatoes, green beans, gravy, and cranberry relish. The dessert choices were pumpkin cheesecake, warm Valrhona chocolate cake, pecan pie parfait, or apple tart. There were also many lovely wine pairings available. I chose the squash soup, turkey entree, and pecan parfait dessert -- just like home (only better). We were able to have our wonderful meal while watching the Wishes fireworks display from the restaurant windows. So special.

I just made our reservations to have dinner this Thanksgiving at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. I adore both the food and atmosphere there. I'm sure they'll put on quite a spread!

I encourage you to make your own reservations soon as many of the restaurants do fully book during the holidays.

    Good luck!
