Is Disney taking any efforts to go "green" or atleast offering recycling bins at their parks/resorts? I'm trying to do my part and teach my kids to be responsible, but I know we'll have some convenience items that will be thrown away.

    Hi Jessica!

Walt Disney World has been "green" for a very long time and long before it became popular.  For example, many years ago you could find trash cans all over the parks but no recycling bins.  However, Disney was actually sorting the trash to get anything that could be recycled after it was moved out of the theme parks and back stage.  They simply didn't want their guest to think about what should be recycled and what shouldn't be; also, they were worried that guests would end up putting trash into the recyclable bin and thus Disney would have to sort through it anyways.

However, as you can imagine, most guests didn't know that "secret" and several complained that Disney should do its part to help the environment.  So today, you will see trash cans and recycling bins everywhere throughout the resort... and Disney still sorts through the trash afterward to make sure everything is done right!

It's great that you are teaching your children to recycle!  Have a magical vacation!
