How does Disney stop non-resort guests from entering rides during EMH? Are magic bands scanned at rides?

    Hi Deirdre!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!

Extra Magic Hours are one of my favorite perks of staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. It's so nice to spend extra time in select theme parks before they open and after they close, and enjoy smaller crowds and shorter wait times for your favorite attractions. We always plan our days around which park has Extra Magic Hours, to maximize our park time! It's easy to check the scheduled hours for Walt Disney World's theme parks using My Disney Experience on the official WDW website, or using the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

Your MagicBand will serve as your valid park ticket and Resort I.D. when you participate in Extra Magic Hours. Cast Members will scan MagicBands as Guests enter attractions to verify that they are indeed Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests.

I hope this helps with your planning. Thanks for using the Moms Panel as a planning resource for your Walt Disney World vacation! Have a magical day - Diane W.
