When does Disney start decorating the Magic Kingdom for Halloween?

Hey, Betsy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We’re happy you stopped by to bring us your question!

Betsy, there’s just nothing quite like holiday celebrations at the Walt Disney World Resort. And for me, seeing those fall decorations gearing up for the season mark the beginning of the best time of the year!

Magic Kingdom will begin their preparations for the season and all the festivities it brings about a week before the kick-off for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But to be sure to see it all finished in all its Spooktacular harvest glory, I would say the day the first party is scheduled is the day that the park is fully decorated and ready for the season. This year, the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party was scheduled for August 25, 2017. So, I would venture to guess that around this same date, next year’s celebrations will begin as well.

Schedules are usually released 6-months in advance, so be sure to check back then so you can plan accordingly if you wish to visit and experience fall at the place where the magic is endless.

I hope this helps you as you plan your magical future visit. Please do come back and see us again soon for any additional tips, advice, or questions. It’s our pleasure to help you as you plan and dream up an unforgettable visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

    See ya real soon,

    Emille
