Ahoy there, Kim! Welcome to planDisney!
From your question, it sounds like you're staying at
Walt Disney World Resort prior to your Disney cruise. Personally, the only thing I find better than embarking on my Disney cruise is waking up at my Disney Resort Collection hotel and
then embarking on it! It’s like magic multiplied!
Booking
Ground Transportation with Disney Cruise Line is my favorite way to get from my Disney World hotel to my Disney cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral. I like it because it’s very easy, reliable, convenient, a comfortable ride, and there’s just something even more magical about getting to your Disney cruise using Disney transportation. It’s like being picked up in Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage to be whisked off to the royal ball!
Besides being convenient, comfortable, and feeling Cinderella-like, the ground transfer for your cruise is also efficient!
The day before you’re picked up, which is also the day before you embark on your cruise, you will receive an email from Disney Cruise Line with an important message regarding the time and meeting place to meet your ground transportation at your Disney World hotel. From my experience, this time is usually in the morning between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. With about an hour drive to Port Canaveral, we usually have an arrival time before 12:00 PM, well before the cruise departs. Please note that this is only from my experience. However, I’m sharing so that you have an idea of what you might expect. Your official departure time will be stated in the email sent to you the day before your cruise.
In my experience, we have not stopped to pick up fellow cruise passengers from other Disney Resort Collection hotels, but that does not mean it’s impossible. However, even if you do, Disney Cruise Line will try their best to help you arrive at Port Canaveral with plenty of time to spare before the ship departs. This is the “reliability” I was talking about earlier.
If you have not already booked the ground transportation for your cruise, it's easy to do so on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Log in to your reservation, then scroll down to "Next Steps" and select "Ground Transportation". Follow the prompts, and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, a reliable and magical bus ride to the cruise port is coming for you!
Kim, I hope that helps reassure you that even your transport and arrival at your Disney cruise is sure to be a reliable and magical experience! I wish you the most wonderful memories on board. Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
