On the Disney ships where Cove Cafe serves pastries, there’s an incredible frosted cranberry bar that I absolutely love. I was wondering if the chefs might be willing to share the recipe?

    Ahoy, Jacqueline!

Oh boy! I love the pastries and treats available from Cove Cafe too. It turns out my family and I are sailing on the Disney Wonder right now and, as coincidence would have it, the first thing I ate this morning was a scrumptious Cranberry Slice, as they are called in the Cove Cafe. No kidding! It really was my first bite of the day! Jacqueline, that delicious little pastry was like heaven on the high seas. I don't blame you a bit for wanting to recreate that magic back home!

When your question about the Cranberry Slice recipe popped up for me today, my mind was instantly transported back up to deck 9 and that amazing breakfast treat I enjoyed while watching the sea roll by this morning. Naturally, I had to do some more research. So I immediately ran up to the Cove Cafe again. Fortunately, they still had several pieces of Cranberry Slice available to sample. You bet I asked for one—for research purposes only, of course! I also asked the baristas in Cove Cafe if they had the recipe for those magical bars. Sadly, they did not. One of the baristas was also interested in the recipe. But she told me that they don't even make those recipes available to the Cove Cafe staff! Just in case, I came down to deck 3 to inquire at the Guest Services Desk as well. One of the staff members was very kind to make some phone calls to try to hunt down the recipe. Alas! The official recipe also eluded her despite some incredible efforts on her part to hunt down the right people.

I'm sorry. I haven't (yet) succeeded in discovering the official recipe for the Cove Cafe's Cranberry Slice treats. I hope that it is something that will be shared sometime in the near future. For such things, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, especially the Disney Eats section and the Disney Cruise Line section. They often share delicious recipes and other ideas for remembering your Disney Cruise Line vacation from home. For example, this Grilled Pineapple and Black Bean Salsa Recipe from Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point was released just a few months ago. That salsa was definitely one that my family enjoyed on our recent cruise aboard the Disney Treasure. So I'm glad we can continue to enjoy that magic at home too!

Thanks for sailing by planDisney, Jacqueline. If you've got any more questions about Disney Parks vacations we can help answer, I hope you'll visit us again soon.

    Have a magical day, Jacqueline!
