Been to Disney several times but have never stayed at Disney, thinking of going again in a few months but want to stay on a Disney resort this time. Which resort would you recommend ? Will be travelling with my 10 yr old daughter.

    Hi Dena:

My family always stays on property as we love the convenience and theming of Disney Resorts as well as the other benefits we receive from staying on Disney property.  Your question has many correct answers, and I'm always eager to give my opinion.

For a 10 year old, check out the Yacht or Beach Club Resorts, which share the Stormalong Bay pool, considered by many to be the best pool on property featuring a major water slide, several sections, and a lazy river.  Not only are these Resorts centrally located near that entertainment and restaurants of the Boardwalk area, but they are a quick walk away from Epcot, and a longer walk or short boat ride away from Hollywood Studios.

I also recommend Animal Kingdom Lodge, especially if you reserve a savanna-view room where your family can watch the animals walk by right outside your window.  The pools are great at Animal Kingdom Lodge. AKL Jambo House is home to the 11,000 square foot Uzima pool. The pool boasts a 67-foot slide. There is also Pumbaa's Fun and Games Arcade. AKL Kidani Village is home to the wonderful Samawati Springs pool.

If you are looking at a Value Resort, Pop Century and Art of Animation have great themeing which your 10-year old may appreciate.

    Enjoy your vacation.
