Greetings, Jennifer, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
September is a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort – the weather is cooling down, and so are the summer crowds! I’m also excited to hEAR that you’re planning to stay at
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa – it’s one of my favorite Disney hotel experiences! Plus, as you mentioned, it has the extra benefit of a special entrance into
Disney California Adventure Park! It’s great to know that your hotel room is literally steps away, especially when traveling with children. I love taking a midday pool break, then returning to the parks after dinner for a nighttime spectacular and dessert!
As for entering
Disneyland Park from the Grand Californian, you’ll need to exit the hotel on the
Downtown Disney District side of the property. You’ll encounter a security checkpoint right before arriving at Downtown Disney District. The only Guests who will be accessing this checkpoint are coming from the hotel, so your lines shouldn’t be as long as those coming from the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, for example. From there, you’ll turn right, then head down the pathway to The Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. It’s just a short walk, and you’ll be at the Main Entrance to Disneyland Park! You definitely picked the most convenient place to stay at the Happiest Place on Earth!
In addition, don’t forget to take advantage of
Extra Magic Hour, an early-admission option made just for Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests. Each day of your stay, with your valid theme-park admission, you’ll be able to enter one of the parks one full hour before the general public. Currently, hotel Guests can enjoy Extra Magic Hour at Disneyland Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and Disney California Adventure Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. You’re going to love this extra-special time in the parks, and you’ll be able to check many of your “must-do” attractions off your list!
Wishing you a magical adventure at the Disneyland Resort this fall!
