We are going to Disney in September. My son is not a huge water park lover but we want to spend at least part of a day at one of the water parks. Which one do you recommend? He will be 9 and doesn't like slides/rides or anything remotely thrilling. lol

    Hi Ashleigh,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for visiting us again! Your question made me laugh because my little guy is definitely NOT a thrill seeker, either… but he still absolutely loves Walt Disney World Resort’s Water Parks!

I would recommend a visit to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park for your family as I find that there is a better balance of water-based attractions for non-thrill seekers than Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. First, the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool is really one-of-a-kind due to its size. Even though it might be intimidating at first for your son, he can sit at the edge and watch the waves gently lap at his feet while he plays in the sand.

Also, I think he’d really enjoy the park’s “lazy river”, Castaway Creek as a nice way to float the day away in a slow moving inner tube… with no drops! Finally, if your son is less than 48 inches tall, Ketchakiddee Creek may provide him with the perfect balance of (small) thrills and splashtacular fun.

I hope my answer helps you plan your vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
