Welcome back to planDisney, Kailen! Thanks for being our guest with your
Disney dining plan question - there's lots of excitement since the dining plans have returned and Guests are taking advantage of Free Dining offers! I'll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in July and my family is excited to try some new restaurants during our stay, courtesy of Free Dining!
With most Free Dining offers, guests who choose to book a package at a
Value Resort Hotel or
Moderate Resort Hotel will be treated to a free
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, but usually there is an option to upgrade from the quick-service plan to the
Disney Dining Plan for an additional cost. Each offer has its own terms and conditions, and options are subject to availability, but I'll be happy to walk you through the process that should help you see your options!
The best way to see if your reservation offer includes an upgrade option would be to access your reservation through your
My Disney Experience account. Once you have logged in, scroll down to find
My Plans, Reservations and Tickets, where you should find your reservation details. To the right of your reservation details will be a "Change Reservation" option. When you click this, it will bring you to all of the available options, including the dining plan you have booked. If your reservation allows for an upgrade, you should see a change option, which will allow you to see the cost difference for the upgrade before you finalize and check out. If you have any problems with this process, you can always reach out to a
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations Cast Member by phone for assistance.
To give you an idea of the pricing details of the two dining plan options,
check out this previous answer I wrote for another guest who recently asked about pricing details for the dining plans. This will give you some indication of what to expect if you decide to make the upgrade!
Kailen, since you'll be visiting in September, you're going to have the opportunity to see fall take shape throughout the theme parks and resorts! This includes some specialty snack offerings that you might just be able to use your dining plan credits to purchase! Be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for announcements about spooky season snacks, events, and offerings! My Halloween season favorite is
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom Park, where guests can frolic in costume, trick or treat throughout the park, and experience some special entertainment and character offerings like Mickey's Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular! And be sure to take some time to listen to the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland if you attend!
You're going to have a magical vacation, Kailen! If you have any other vacation planning questions, or need some dining recommendations as you get close to your Advance Dining Reservation window,
come on back and ask! You've got a friend in me!
Bon Appetit,
Alison
