Disney in Sept. with 7 year old boy. Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs or Port Orleans? And Why? Thanks!

    Hi Leslie!

I definitely recommend going with Port Orleans Riverside.  The primary reason is I think the other two resorts are much too large and thus a lot harder to get around.  Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter are much smaller and easier to get around by both bus and by just walking.

Between Riverside and French Quarter, I prefer Riverside.  It has a much nicer pool in my opinion, especially with regards to the water slide.  If the 7 year old is a good swimmer, then he will have more fun at the Riverside pool.  If he's not a good swimmer, then perhaps French Quarter would be better as their water slide is tamer.

Riverside also has cane pole fishing in the morning which most young boys absolutely love.  There's also boat transportation to Downtown Disney, which is a lot of fun, especially at night.  Finally, there are carriage rides at Port Orleans Riverside which a lot of young guests love.

By the way, if you decide to go with Port Orleans Riverside, I recommend staying in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort.  It's got great theming and the landscape is beautiful.  Good luck with your decision!
